Frequently Asked Questions

General

You offer multiple options for getting the physical therapy I need. Do I have to choose just one?

No. In fact, we encourage you to combine them! That's the beauty of Elevate. Lindsay will help you build a plan that fits your lifestyle while continuously moving you toward your goals. Loving the convenience of the mobile visits, but you're going up north for a week? A virtual session can help keep you accountable to your plan while you're gone.

Do you take insurance?

Elevate Physical Therapy does NOT submit insurance claims and is considered an out-of-network provider with all insurance companies. We will provide you with detailed receipts to request reimbursement through your health insurance policy's out-of-network benefits. Reimbursement is not guaranteed, and payment is due at the time of service. We accept all major credit/debit cards, as well as Flexible Spending Account and Health Savings Account debit cards.

Will it be more expensive than using my insurance?

That depends on many different factors. Fee-for-service physical therapy has proven to be both more efficient and cost-effective compared to traditional PT models. Lindsay's approach guarantees one-on-one care for your entire 50-60 minute appointment, allowing your treatment to be tailored to your needs at each session. This allows recovery in a smaller number of treatment sessions and a quicker return to doing what you love!

How do I know if I have out-of-network benefits?

Simply ask your health insurance company these questions:

  • Do I have coverage for physical therapy from an out-of-network provider? (If they ask for the specific treatment codes- 97162, 97140, 97110, 97112, 97530)

  • Does this coverage apply to telehealth physical therapy? (for telehealth sessions only)

  • Is there a deductible for out-of-network services? How close am I to meeting the deductible for this year?

  • Do I need to be pre-authorized for physical therapy sessions in order to receive reimbursement?

  • What are the steps to submit an out-of-network claim, and what must be included with the claim?

What equipment will I need for a virtual physical therapy session?

Our secure platform tailors your session to the equipment and internet bandwidth you have available. If you are viewing this page, you can successfully complete a virtual PT session. If any problems arise, Lindsay will work with you until they are resolved. You will simply need:

  • A computer, tablet, or smart phone with a video camera

  • A reliable internet connection

  • A hands-free method to position your camera during the session to allow Lindsay to see you (such as a wall to lean the phone against, a tripod, a PopSocket, etc)

How will you diagnose my condition or injury by video?

In the clinic, physical therapy evaluations start with a conversation, in which the therapist asks a series of questions to discover what they need to know about your injury. Based on this discussion alone, the therapist should have a very clear idea of your probable diagnosis. Then, the therapist may perform some hands-on tests to confirm.

Similarly, Lindsay will watch you perform specific movements, asking you questions about each one, and will assess your response during each phase of the evaluation. This process will clarify your diagnosis and guide your treatment plan. If Lindsay is ever unsure of your diagnosis, or believes you need in-person treatment for best results, she will not hesitate to guide you toward an in-person evaluation!
